Walking from Clachtoll Broch along the beach to the church.

I continued from Clachtoll Broch walking along the coastline until I reached the small beach of Stoer.

First I wondered why it was a bit smelly on the beach until I saw the decomposing dead seal lying there – or better said someone pointed it out to me.

Back in the village I finally walked to the old church I´ve seen from the road.

And some coffee was waiting for me at the Flossie beach hut, a little shop.

The heatwave was over and Clachtoll beach was pretty empty again – perfect for a little walk around the beach and the cliffs towards Clachtoll broch.

Going down towards the beach, and coming by the former salmon bothy. The poles outside were used to dry the nets. And inside there is a “fisherman” waiting to tell you their story.

Finally, I caught the first glimpse of the broch.

The weather got moodier and moodier which added an extra layer of atmosphere. Clachtoll Broch was the home of a family in the Iron Age and was destroyed by a huge fire.

    Clashnessie Falls 10

I parked next to the beach in Clashnessie and walk the short walk to the falls, it´s been pretty dry, so the falls weren´t that impressive, but at least it was raining a bit, so there was water.

Birds nesting in a post box, seems to be a cosy home, I saw that more than once happening.

First view of the waterfall, as said, it was a really nice little walk through the heather to get tthere.

There was a cottage right next to the little river going to the walk and this one was ready for me and a bit of play catch.

The rain had stopped again and I spent some more time at the beach.
