  • Leitir Easaidh – Little Assynt

Leitir Easaidh - a nice little walk in Little Assynt.

It was just a few hundred metres from the parking at the Assynt woods to the starting point of my next walk: Leitir Easaidh. I could also have made a little detour and combined the two.

I´ve never seen that many dragonflies like on that short walk – they were everywhere! The trail around Leitir Easaidh is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers or if you just don´t want to get muddy boots. It is a lovely walk with stunning views and as said lots of dragonflies.

From one loch to the next one, who wouldn’t like to do a little relaxed boat tour on this one?

  • Little Assynt

It was time to leave my lovely house on the Stoer Peninsula and drive towards Ullapool, my next stop before I would leave for Harris & Lewis. I had some stops planned along the way and actually went on two little hikes along the way.

The weather changed every few minutes from sunshine to rain to clouds but still, it was a beautiful day!

    Loch an t-Sabhail circuit

The walk starts at the Little Assynt parking, I was early enough to be all alone at the parking and then also at the walk. But as said, the weather was changing all the time.

The views along the walk were amazing, soon I

saw the great ridge of Quinag towering like a wall over the moor.

And soon I saw the Loch an t-Sabhail and was walking towards it.

Enjoy some images of the everchanging weather, this was all happening within a quite short timeframe.

And was already in direction of going back. Passing the remains of an old mill.

Kissing gate back to the parking. I definitely would recommend this walk, it is easy to follow and the path is in great condition!
