  • Kungliga slottet

7 floors, about 600 rooms, 3 museums, 1 chapel and probably thousands of the most beautiful chandeliers – the royal palace in Stockholm, the official residence of the swedish monarch.

  • Gamla stan

Stockholms old town charmes you with little alleys, narrow streets, beautiful squares, lots of antique stores, cafés and reaturants. Situated mainly on the island Stadsholem the city dates back to the 13th century and is one of the largest and best preserved medieval city centers in Europe. Just grab a coffee and wander the cobblestone streets…

  • Djurgården

Where to spend a sunny day better than at (Kungliga) Djurgården – another one of the central Stockholm islands and an especially pretty one. A National City park hosting an amusementpark (Gröna Lund), stunning historic houses and theaters, museums, yacht harbours, Waldemannsudde, but also forests and meadows. A calm oasis to have fun, lie at the water, take long walks with a coffee & waffle break or enjoy all the different museums – only a short walk from city center or a ride on the tram or ferry away.

Rosendals TrädgårdI think I spent several hours at this garden/shop/café in the middle of Djurgården called “The Rose Valley”. Such a beautiful place!

Rosendal’s Garden is an open garden, with the main purpose of presenting biodynamic (organic) garden cultivation to the general public.[…]

In the café, we serve coffee and tea, sandwiches, pastries, and light lunch dishes, with nothing but organically grown ingredients. All bread, pies, buns, cookies and cakes come from our own Bakery, boasting a wood-fired stone oven built in 1998.

The biodynamic principles include a constant focus on quality. Besides environmental considerations in all gardening work, all produce used in our food processing is selected with utmost care. The garden crops are served at our tables, and leftovers go back to the compost heap, providing first-rate soil for next year’s growth. Visitors can actually feel the continuity of a connected whole. With a belly full of coffee, soup and cake it´s time to take another walk around the island.

Until I reached Waldemannsudde, the former mansion of Prins Eugen which was converted to a museum after his death.
