    This was kind of my daily route down to Via Toledo and back up to my apartement – straight through the spanish quarters (Quartieri Spagnoli). And every time there was something new to discover, shrines, murals, cute dogs, ladies selling something out of their kitchen window, kids on a Vespa, tiny little front gardens, tiny shops, people watching tv together,…

    Some days ago Dolce & Gabana transformed the narrow streets of Napoli into a catwalk for their “Alta Moda” show – what a perfect backdrop to present fashion!

  • Shrines over shrines

    There were quite a lot of things about Naples that had me spellbound: all the fireworks every evening around the bay, children driving scooters, the amount of fried food and something that might be typical for the Quartieri Spagnoli, at least I didn´t see them in that amount somewhere else: shrines!

    They are everywhere! Small, big, old, new, kitschy, nice, full of pictures and so on – there must be hundreds of them in the spanish quarters…

    Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli, museum, naples, italyA rainy afternoon was the pefect excuse to spend some hours at the archeological museum – even that wasn´t any light in two of the rooms with all the marbles, still don´t know why, but it made me miss the famous buttocks of Venus Callipyge – there are so many beautiful artifacts, I might be going back there this autumn.
