    After arriving the first stop of course had to be a beach, let´s go for a walk on Scarista Beach.

  • Good bye Grimsay & North Uist

    An evening and morning in Grimsay, North Uist

    I went for a little walk along Grimsay on my last evening. Looking out towards North Uist from the best little bench. These are always in the best locations!

    And just a short walk from my cottage there were the remains of a broch, including a causeway, now underwater.

    The following day I had to leave Grimsay and North Uist to catch my ferry from Berneray to Leverburgh in the Isle of Harris. But there was a surprise on the street towards North Uist, suddenly I saw some deer crossing.

  • Clachlan Sands

    Taking a walk in Clachlan Sands and enjoying all the machhair.

    Clachlan Sands – another stunning white beach in North Uist going on for ages. Framed by colourful machair it is perfect for long walks between the waves and the wildflowers.

    It is a known spot for the elusive corncrakes, but I didn´t hear or see any, but it was also a pretty busy day.
