  • Rosenhügelstudios – Halle 6

    Somehow I never posted these last pictures from the former “Filmstadt Wien”. Last November I visited the Rosenhügelstudios while they already were torn down, except for two building: in Halle 1 film and tv- shows were shot and in Halle 6 they made the perfect sound.

    Built in 1941 the “Synchronhalle” is one of five best “sound rooms” worldwide. And it´s one of the biggest: it is possible to record two orchestras at the same time.

    Lucky enough Halle 6 will be a recording studio again. It was taken over by Synchron Stage OG who are planning to produce and record music and sounds for big hollywood produtions. Currently renovation and moderisation works are propably still underway, but once finished Abbey Road Studios is going tol have big competition!

  • Cinecittà Shows off

    Join me for one last stroll through the movie studios in Rome. After our guided tour through the different sets we finished our visit with the exhibitions. The permanent exhibition shows the costumes, some smaller sets and “narrates the story of Cinecittà from 1937 to 1989, highlighting the Studios’ most important productions”. One shouldn´t miss it, it is the perfect happy ending for a visit at Cinecittà!

  • Cinecittà – On the set of Rome

    Let´s get back to Rome, but this time we´re going to do a little timelapse: welcome to Cesars Rome, set in the 1st century BC.

    Rebuilt on 4 hectares for the HBO show “Rome”. In Cinecittà Rome is only s short walk from New York and Assisi. Another set still in use, the crew of “Doctor Who” used it, the fourth season of “The Fires of Pompeii” and more recent in march “Zero-Zero-Sette” shot there and at this very moment the “Zoolander 2”.

    Do you recognize the building on the right? It´s the Pantheon used in “Rome” as domicile of the senat.
