Once used to transport goods and people from outside Milan into the city (and reversed) the two remaining canals Naviglio Grande and Naviglio Pavese today are know for their nightlife – lots of bars, restaurants, art- and antique shops. Lucky me, my apartement was a only a short walk from this relaxed and picturesque area and I spent quite some time there. Took a little cruise on the Naviglio Grande, ate delicious icecream formed like a rose and imagined doing my washing in the Vicolo dei Lavandai.
