An Turas
When you arrive by ferry in the Isle of Tiree you will see this art installation near the ferry port.
An Turas is in, and of, the landscape and the place … it is that which gives it its meaning. (Visit Tiree)
An Turas is a collaboration between two young Scottish architects and a group of artists – a combination of architecture and art.
The end of “The Journey” is just another beginning.
Kirkapol
We´re leaving Scarinish and going to Kirkapol for a nice walk along the beach and to visit the remains of two chapels.
Behind the Tiree Lodge Hotel and just a short walk from the beach are the two ancient chapels of Kirkapol.
The bigger one dates to the 14th century is the former parish church dedicated to Saint Columba. The smaller chapel also was dedicated to St Columba and goes back to the 13th century.
