Last Friday I boarded one of the brandnew Hellö-buses on to Dresden. Who had though that about 7 hours on a bus aren´t as bad as imagined, even without a working wlan most of the time – or maybe because of that? As this trip has been a quite spontanious one, going by bus was the cheapest way and it brought me safe and sound to a sunny Dresden.
As the only thing I had on my to-do-list for Dresden was visiting the Zwinger, I just wandered around old town and Neustadt, had a picknick on the Elbwiesen and enjoyed some music on the ongoing city-celebrations. Whenever I´m in a former communist town, I´m quite fascinated by the contrast of the really old monuments/buildings and the ones from the 60ies/70ies/80ies – baroque meets Plattenbau.
I probably spent most of my time walking on the terraces of the Zwinger – looking at all the different statues and all these beautiful details. From cheeky little angels and trolls to a more secret “garden” with some even more cheeky ladies…
And back outside to the Semperopera making bold statements!
Fullmoon over Dresden.
