Photos and the City

Slow travel & photography

…sounds almost like a movie from the 50ies “Europe in 7 days”! It kind of happend by itself when I was planning this trip.

Three cities and all of them so different!

It was my forth time in Rome, second one this year. I stayed in Monti and felt in love with this area! Part of it is hectic and fast and loud and then there are these cute little alleys with tiny shops of all kinds: fashion, vintage, art, design, artisan and so on. It was so different from staying in Trastevere in spring.

According to my partents I´ve been to Florence and Milan as a child around the age of 8 or 9 – I can´t remember any of it. And even while walking through Florence yesterday and Milan today – still no memory at all.

I felt as if the real beauty of Florence is hidden behind the doors. Kind of modest house(palazzo)fronts and when you peek inside there are the most beautiful painted walls and wooden ceilings. And there are soooo many people everywhere and it felt like everyone has at least two selfie sticks, they are everywhere! My favourite part was the walk to Piazzale Michelangelo and the area below – I always love to look at rooftops.

And today I arrived in Milan! Elegant buildings, yellow trams and Expo – so far so good!
